Lecture series in photonics showcases the latest practical applications

This October-December, the Department of Physics and Mathematics of the University of Eastern Finland will run a lecture series in photonics, showcasing the latest practical applications in the field. Various companies are also presenting different applications of photonics from practical perspective.

The lectures will cover topics such as software engineering photonics and color science, hyperspectral cameras, spectral imaging in plant biology, agriculture and forestry, the quality control of the wood and raw materials in food industry, X-ray optics and photonics in augmented reality.

The lecture series constitutes part of international Master’s Degree Programme in Photonics, which seeks to bridge the gap between research and practical applications, but also between students and companies. The lecture series is open to everyone and free of charge. The lectures will be held in English.
