The Karelian Institute hosts Dr. Teresa Aguiar Quintana from the University Institute of Tourism and Sustainable Economic Development (TIDES), the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
Dr. Aguiar will give a seminar/breakfast briefing with coffee and pie on August 9, at 9:30 am, AU105. She will present her book “Successful Case Studies in the Canary Islands’ Tourism Industry”, and introduce TIDES’s international Master’s programme in Economics, Tourism and Environmental Management. We will also introduce our joint project on foreign property owners and second-home tourism.
Dr. Aguiar is a Director of Scientific Dissemination and Transference at TIDES Institute and a lecturer at the Department of Business Administration and Tourism. She teaches Lodging Operations for undergraduate students and Service Quality Analysis within the Master’s Programme in Economics, Tourism and Environmental Management. Dr. Aguiar’s main research focus in on service recovery, perception, quality and leadership. Prior to her academic career Dr. Aguiar has gained an extensive industry expertise through 12 years work experience in the marketing department in a family retailing business.
