TopMob – a mobile learning environment for university students' practical training periods

TopMob is a project to develop a smart phone application and associated backend service to capture and support especially informal learning during university students' internship periods. Students can reflect their learning moments "in situ" while carrying out their duties at the work place.

TopMob is designed and developed in collaboration between the edTech research group and School of Theology of UEF. Theology students will test the first prototype of the application while doing their internships at Finnish Evangelical-Lutheran parishes during academic year 2015-16. Based on the experiences and feedback, TopMob will be extended and applied to other disciplines.

TopMob is funded from learning environment development program of UEF. Project was one of the six accepted initiatives from 45 applications, and the only funded project for the faculty of science and forestry. TopMob received the biggest fund of all projects.
