Nordic New Testament Conference: Dynamics of New Testament Readings. Nordic Perspectives. in Joensuu, Finland, June 11–15, 2010.
The first Nordic New Testament Conference was arranged 1978 in Århus, Denmark, and thereafter in different Nordic countries in every three years. The goal of the meetings is to promote scholarly co-operation within the field of New Testament exegesis. This time the conference will take place June 11–15, 2010 in Joensuu, Finland. The conference is located at the new Orthodox Culture Centre.
The theme of the conference is Dynamics of New Testament Readings. Nordic Perspectives. Not only was the formation of the New Testament writings a dynamic process – involving divergent readings of earlier and contemporary traditions – but each reading of the texts is a play between the text, the reader and his or her broader environment. The conference explores these dynamics from multiple perspectives.
The conference focuses on oral traditions and Early Christian literature, early readings of New Testament documents, New Testament exegesis and comparative religion, and the academic and aocial setting of Nordic exegesis.
