We warmly welcome you to participate in the 16th Kuopio Bio-NMR  Workshop: From basics to advanced functional MRI on 11-13 June 2014, University of Eastern Finland, Medistudia Auditorium,  Kuopio, Finland.

The workshop brings together international renowned faculty of fMRI researchers from both experimental and clinical research environment, and it will cover topics from basic principles of functional magnetic resonance imaging to the applications of functional and pharmacological MRI in both preclinical and clinical studies. The workshop aims to cover the basics of fMRI, cutting edge techniques and recent advances in fMRI and phMRI. The last day is dedicated to a hands-on session on how to perform a preclinical fMRI experiment and data analysis.
 
Registration
 
Registration is required for all participants. There is no registration fee. The scientific sessions and coffees will be offered. There is a nominal social program fee of 20€, which includes dinner on Wednesday 11th June in Koivumäki Manor.

Credits
 
Students can acquire 1-3 study credits for the Workshop. Validation of the course requires attending the lectures (1 ECTS, 2 days attendance), an oral or a poster presentation (+ 1 ECTS) and hands-on  session & written report (+ 1 ECTS).
 
Call for Abstracts
 
The organizing committee invites abstracts of original contributions. Contributions will be presented as an oral presentation or as a poster. The best contribution(s) will be awarded. All abstracts will be published in the course abstract book. Maximum length of abstract is 250 words. The abstract should contain the title, authors and the text. Please submit the abstracts as an e-mail attachment to joanna.huttunen@uef.fi. Format of attachment must be either word document or text. Deadline for receipt of abstracts is Friday 30 May 2014. Size of the poster is 120 cm (height) and 90 cm (width).
 
Venue
 
The workshop will take place at the University of Eastern Finland, Medistudia building, Auditorium ML3, street address Yliopistonranta 1 A, Kuopio.
The place of the social program on Wednesday 11th June is Koivumäki Manor. Joint bus transportation is offered.
Hands-on sessions on Friday 13th are in A.I. Virtanen Institute, street address Neulaniementie 2.
