Our guest is Prof. Claude Libert, Professor at Ghent University, Belgium.
The title of Prof. Libert's talk will be "Intensive cross-talk between TNF and Glucocorticoid Receptors".
Seminar is hosted by Professor Jorma Palvimo.
Prof. Claude Libert, born 1964. Obtained PhD in 1993 with Walter Fiers, Ghent University. Then went for postdoc to IRBM in Rome, with Valeria Poli to work on IL6 and generated targeting vector for conditional STAT3-KO mice (1994-1995). Became a group leader with VIB in 1997 and a professor at Ghent University in 1999. His group is called Mouse Genetics in Inflammation. He is now full professor in genetics and has a research group op 20 people. His interest is acute inflammation and the control by MMPs, TNF and Glucocorticoids.
