The key-speaker will be Patrick Dillon, Emeritus Professor at the University of Exeter, UK, and Visiting Professor at the University of Eastern Finland. His paper will focus on Transculturalism and cultural ecology ('Fourth World' transculturalism and its cultural ecological framing). He will speak for 30 minutes. The second speaker, Dawid Bunikowski, PhD, Postdoc., from the UEF Law School, will give his response for 30 minutes. He will talk about Indigenous Peoples, their rights and customary law in the North: the Sami case in Scandinavia and Russia, following with a commentary, making connections between Dillon's presentation and 'customary law', and raising matters that together the participants may discuss. Then for the second hour we will open up for discussion.
Aim: To discuss the connections between cultural ecological ideas and customary law, especially in the North.
The seminar is open. Everybody is warmly welcome.
